Is Nomi AI worth it? Who it suits and who should skip it

Nomi AI Non-affiliate link makes sense for someone who wants a conversational virtual companion (friend, partner, mentor, roleplay) with memory at the center. That answers "what is Nomi AI" in short. The Terms require you to be 18 or older.

The main point in its favor, going by what the company publishes, is short-, medium- and long-term memory, which the app store descriptions highlight. The main point against: the interface is English only, and Pix and crypto are not among the published payment methods.

How to pay for Nomi AI from Brazil

On the website, the Terms (section 13) list Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. In the stores, payment goes through the App Store or Google Play, which set the price and currency. Pix, PayPal and cryptocurrency are not published as options, and the web payment provider is not disclosed either.

The web subscription is billed in dollars, and your bank may charge a conversion fee. On a card purchase in a foreign currency, IOF tax may apply; the rate is not in our data, so check with your bank. The Brazilian App Store shows prices in reais, which avoids the conversion.

How the charge appears on your card statement is also not published. If that matters to you, it is worth asking support at [email protected] before subscribing.

Nomi AI prices in dollars and reais

Amounts in reais marked "≈" are site estimates: the dollar price multiplied by the ECB reference rate of 22 Oct 2026, without taxes, and your bank may add IOF. On the US App Store, Standard costs $15.99 (≈ R$ 80.73) per month, checked on 22 Oct 2026.

What the Launch plan includes is not officially described; the App Store shows only the name and price. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the period ends, and web prices only appear after you log in, with no open publication.

On the Brazilian App Store, monthly Standard appears at R$ 79.90, taxes included. That is the amount you actually see when subscribing from a Brazilian iPhone, with no reliance on the site's estimate.

Credits are sold separately, only to people with an active subscription. They do not expire and cover extras such as images, video and character slots. There is no lifetime plan.

What you can use for free

The home page says you can start chatting without a credit card. But there are limits: daily messages and images. The number of free messages per day is not published.

On images, the company blog (20 Mar 2026) mentions 2 images per day on the free plan, against 40 image credits per day for subscribers. Each free message can be up to 400 characters; on a subscription, up to 800. Messages Nomi sends on its own initiative do not count toward that limit and also arrive on a free account.

Voice, calls, unlimited messages and advanced customization require a subscription. When you drop back to the free plan, groups, video, voice messages and calls become read-only, and one-on-one chats continue. How many Nomis you can create for free is not published, and credits are not sold to free accounts.

Features: text, memory, voice, images and video

• Text chat: one-on-one conversation with your Nomi, which may start a topic after a pause. You can also send a link, and it opens the page on the internet.
• Memory: short, medium and long term, shared between one-on-one and group chats.
• Voice and calls: subscription only. Voice is designed mainly for English, and replies on calls are not instant. There is an ElevenLabs integration through your own account.
• Images: selfies, art and editing, with a daily limit and then 1 credit per request. According to the wiki, characters only generate photos with clothes on.
• Video: clips of 5, 10 or 15 seconds, made from an image. A paid feature; in credits, SD costs 6 and HD costs 10. There is no live video call.
• Your own character: backstory, notes and a realistic or anime look. On a subscription, up to 10 active Nomis; an extra slot costs 100 credits.
• Groups: several Nomis in the same chat, a paid feature, up to 10 active groups and 25 credits per extra room.

There are apps for iOS and Android, plus a web version and a PWA. Judging by the package name, the Android app is a wrapper around the web version. The daily video limit in numbers is not published.

Nomi AI in Portuguese

The interface is English only. On the App Store, the language listed is English, even though the app is available in Brazil, where it carries the ClassInd 18 rating.

For text conversations, the CEO said in a stream on 2 Sep 2026 that Nomi should work in all languages, with fluency varying by language. There is no specific data on Portuguese, and we have not measured quality. For voice in other languages, he pointed to the ElevenLabs integration.

Privacy and data at Nomi AI

The Privacy Policy is dated 27 Apr 2026. It mentions collecting the email from Google or Apple login, name or nickname, date of birth, conversation content, payment data (only when subscribing), IP and device data. The company says it does not sell or rent personal data, and there is no end-to-end encryption. The data controller is in the US.

On training: the wiki says Nomis learn from chats in aggregate, without personal data. The Terms (section 7) give the company a broad license over what you write and receive. No option to refuse training is described. How long conversations are kept while the account is active is not published.

To delete your account: Profile, Account Settings, Delete account, email confirmation and typing DELETE. Personal data is removed in about 28 days; what is in the training archives may remain, with no link to you. Deleting a single Nomi does not clear the whole history.

Age verification is self-declared date of birth. In March 2026, an eSafety (Australia) report noted that Nomi relied on that or on the app store rating, and that the company committed to adopting more verification. Paying, canceling and refunds

To cancel on the web or in the app: Profile icon, Subscription tab, Manage Subscription and, at the bottom, Cancel Subscription. If you bought through a store, cancel there: on iPhone, Settings, Subscriptions; on Android, in Google Play, Payments & subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel anything, and you must cancel before the renewal date.

Access continues until the end of the paid period, and then the plan reverts to free. Under the Terms, payments are non-refundable except in the cases the Terms set out. There is no refund for non-use, buyer's remorse or partial months; a partial or full refund is at the company's discretion. Requests go to [email protected]. Deadlines for asking and the process for store purchases are not described, nor is the EU 14-day right of withdrawal. Checked on 27 Oct 2026. On Trustpilot, the rating is 2.3 out of 5, from 42 reviews, which is a small number. About 34% gave 5 stars and 57% gave 1. The profile is not verified by the company and there are no replies to reviews.

Complaints include: no reply to refund requests, difficulty deleting the account or canceling, strict filters, weak image generation and conversations that get worse over time. Praise includes: good memory, natural and attentive dialogue, a simple interface and a price that fits what you get.

In search results about Reddit, discussions appear about an outage in which the service was down or nearly unusable, AI update notes with improvements in conversation and reasoning, and posts about how characters handle secrets in roleplay games.
