The service and subscriptions keep working, and a sale of the company is expected by late November or early December 2026.

Talkie

A Free Use mode exists, but the terms (section 1.5.1) say Talkie may refuse it to anyone at its discretion. The app interface includes Portuguese. The monthly subscription is listed at $9.99 (≈ R$ 50.44), and the annual one works out to about $4.17 (≈ R$ 21.05) per month. Billing goes through the App Store or Google Play. The support page has no step-by-step cancellation guide, and refunds are listed as "no".

In short, Character.AI has the cheapest entry, Replika has the clearest free plan, and Talkie relies on the app store for billing and cancellation.

Who Nomi AI suits, and who should look elsewhere

Before switching, look at what weighs on Nomi AI. If you chat in Portuguese, know that the interface is English only. The CEO said in a stream on 2 Sep 2026 that text should work in all languages, but fluency varies, and the voice is designed mainly for English.

On the free tier, Nomi does not publish how many messages per day you get. According to the company blog (20 Mar 2026), you get 2 images a day without paying. Voice calls and unlimited messages need a subscription. Prices and the rest are on Nomi AI: pricing and free plan.
