Is OurDream AI Safe? Chats Used for Training and 2026 Reports Still Unresolved

To answer "is OurDream AI safe?", all you can do is look at what the company publishes and what the press has reported. The service was working when we checked on 22 Oct 2026, but some points remain open: chats are used to train models, no retention period is published, and the 2026 reports have no public outcome yet. Nothing here comes from using the service ourselves. It is all based on company documents and news reports, with the date checked.

Is OurDream AI legit? A short answer

OurDream AI is not a scam in the sense of a site that takes money and disappears: it has an identified operator, terms, a refund policy and a complaint channel. But whether it is trustworthy depends on what you weigh. Chat data is used for training, no retention period is stated, and there is a recent journalistic investigation about characters.

On 20 Jun 2026, ABC News (Australia) reported that, using an age-estimation tool, it found user-created characters that appeared to be minors, and it referred the case to Queensland Police. The company rejects the allegations and says it has zero tolerance for illegal content. Of the 17 characters ABC flagged, 11 were removed, according to ABC.

On 2 Jul 2026 (updated 3 Jul), Aylo, the owner of Pornhub, paused all OurDream advertising pending a new review. Australia's eSafety Commissioner told the service about its obligations under the Online Safety Act and is assessing compliance. We found no publications after July 2026 about how this ended.

The operator is Dream Studio USA, Inc., a Delaware company with an address in Dover, USA. If you want to look at the service, access is through OurDream AI Affiliate link, for adults 18+ only.

Privacy: what is known about your data

The Privacy Policy (26 Aug 2026) says data is used, among other purposes, to train artificial intelligence models. It does not describe how to opt out. On retention, the text says "as long as necessary", with no number.

Points the company states:

• Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (AES, TLS 1.3).
• Chat messages are processed by a third-party model provider.
• Staff see private chats only with your consent or on a legal request.
• The company says it does not sell data.
• A single message can be deleted from the "…" menu → Delete, and it also leaves the model's context.

One contradiction deserves attention. The homepage FAQ promises end-to-end encryption, where even the service could not read your chats. The policy, however, describes ordinary encryption, processing by a model provider and model training on data. When in doubt, the policy text is what counts.

To delete your account: Profile → "danger zone" → delete, or Settings → Account management. Processing takes 24 to 48 hours and erases generations, unpublished characters, chat history and coins, with no undo. A popular public character may be kept by the service even afterward. Requests for access, deletion and export go to [email protected]. The data controller's country is the US.

What shows up on your card statement

The name that appears on the statement is not published. The FAQ only says billing is "discreet" ("Billing is discreet"), without explaining what that means. So we cannot say how the line will look on your statement.

The pricing page showed prices in US dollars (USD). The service accepts cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, crypto and, according to the checkout, Pix for Brazil. PayPal is not accepted. The reais amounts on this site are estimates: dollars × the ECB reference rate of 22 Oct 2026, without taxes, and your bank may add IOF on a purchase in foreign currency. The charge itself is in dollars, and we could not confirm which currency the page shows to visitors from Brazil.

Moderation, age checks and reports

The Acceptable Use Policy (21 Aug 2026) allows romantic and sexual content between consenting adult fictional characters. It bans in all cases: images of minors or characters resembling minors, real people, other people's intellectual property, extreme categories and religious figures. It also bans getting around filters through encoding or switching language. Penalties range from a warning to a permanent ban.

Moderation is hybrid, with classifiers and people. Public characters are reviewed before publication, and appeals are handled by a person, usually within 10 business days. No SFW mode or explicitness filter is described in the materials.

On age: the baseline is self-declaration, with an "I'm over 18" notice. Where the law requires it, verification is done by third parties (Go.cam or AgeVerif), using facial estimation, a selfie, a document or a card. Only a pass or fail result goes back to the service, which says it does not keep document or face images. Verification is mandatory in the UK and Australia; no specific rule is published for Brazil.

On public opinion: the company's Trustpilot profile was removed by the platform (checked 27 Oct 2026), which says the company violates the site's rules. On Reddit, the themes are people happy with long-running scenarios and people who felt they had spent on the monthly subscription and wanted out. These are user impressions, not verified data.

Payment, cancelling OurDream AI and refunds

To cancel, the path is: account settings → "Cancel subscription" → confirm. You can also write to [email protected]. Access continues until the end of the paid period, and unused coins stay valid until then. After cancellation there are no new charges. If you subscribe again, old coins are not restored.

On refunds, the policy of 9 Mar 2026 says:

• Defect or mismatch with the description: report it within 14 days of purchase; a reply comes within 7 business days.
• The unused part of the period is normally not returned.
• Crypto payments are not refunded.
• According to the help center, there is no refund if more than 25% of the product has been used; a monthly plan is not refunded if coins were spent; an annual plan may get a full or partial refund.
• The request is made through "Request Help" in your profile; money returns to the card in 5 to 10 business days.

The 14-day right of withdrawal applies to consumers in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland; it is not mentioned for Brazil. Disputing the charge with your bank (chargeback) without first contacting support may lead to the account being frozen. Formal complaints (policy of 15 Sep 2026) get an acknowledgment within 72 hours and a decision within 5 business days.

Scams and fake apps: where the real site is

The service is web only, at ourdream.ai and ourdream.io, which are the same service and the same account. There is no native app for iOS or Android; a search of the app stores found no OurDream app. The help center suggests adding the site to your home screen as a PWA (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android).

In practice: type the address yourself, do not install an APK from a third-party site, and be wary of "free coins" offered through links. If a payment is declined, the help center suggests buying a subscription or coin code on G2A and redeeming it under "Redeem Code", but that is at your own risk.
